A single gearbox repair on a Juke is roughly six times the cost of a year's cover at the top of Nissan's range, on a fault that occurs often enough to be a real prospect rather than a remote one. That is the argument for cover on a Nissan, and it does not need dressing up.
Why do I need a Nissan Car Warranty?
Everything else is cheap - Suspension is the most frequently claimed category across much of the range, reaching 57.00% of Micra claims, 44.74% on the Pulsar, 40.95% on the Note and 39.13% on the Leaf. But average suspension repairs sit between £206 and £370 across every model.

Two conditions in Nissan's terms deserve more attention than they get.
The first is the service window. Nissan allows 1,000 miles or one month either side of each scheduled interval. That is a tighter tolerance than most owners assume they have, and drifting past it can affect eligibility on a car that has otherwise been properly maintained.
The second is water ingress. Parts damaged by water are excluded from Nissan's cover even where the component itself would normally be included. Worth knowing before you assume an electrical fault after a wet winter is covered.

Does Nissan offer a 5 year warranty in the UK?
The standard new vehicle warranty is three years or 60,000 miles. Longer cover has appeared on specific models and promotions, and high-voltage batteries on electric models are covered separately and for longer than the vehicle warranty. Check your own car's position with a Nissan dealer using the VIN rather than assuming, since it varies by model and purchase date.
What is Nissan's service schedule tolerance?
Nissan allows 1,000 miles or one month either side of each recommended service interval. Outside that, eligibility for cover can be affected. If your servicing has slipped, get it back on schedule and keep the invoices, because service history is one of the two most common reasons any warranty claim is declined.
Is water damage covered by a Nissan warranty?
Not by Nissan. Its terms exclude parts damaged by water ingress even where those parts would otherwise be covered. This is an unusually specific exclusion and worth checking against any policy you are comparing, including ours, before you rely on it.
Are Qashqai and Juke gearbox faults covered?
